Please join the American Legion Post No. 63 and the Harney County Chamber of Commerce in a Memorial Day March. Walk in memory of someone you know who has fallen in the line of duty. Meet at Burns High School at 9 a.m. Bring your own signs or use supplies provided to make a poster to carry. At 10 a.m., march on down to the Burns Cemetery. Join together at 11 a.m. for a prayer service at the kneeling soldier, and share a memory of the person you are walking for. At 11:30 a.m., visit the graves of fallen soldiers and pay your respects. Later that evening at 5 p.m., head down to the Burns Elks Lodge for a tri-tip dinner hosted by the American Legion, Burns Elks, and Erickson’s Thriftway. All emergency services personnel are invited to enjoy a meal for free, guests are $10, and children under 5 are free. Call the Harney County Chamber of Commerce for more information, 541-573-2636.
