Results of the Migratory Bird Festival Youth Art Contest Arts and Entertainment Youth April 5, 2017April 5, 20170 Many Harney County students participated in the annual Migratory Bird Festival youth art contest this year. There were dozens of incredible submissions across all ages! Thank you to the teachers and helpers who made these masterpieces possible with classroom time and overall support for art education. Halle Robertson, a 12th grader at Crane Union High School, won ‘Best of Show Overall’ in her age category and the ‘Best of the Nest’ award. Overall first place finishers for each grade will have their art printed on canvas (8 x 10) and available for purchase through silent auction during the festival. These will be on display and presented for bidding at the Art Show and Sale. The two “Best of the Nest” selections will also be printed on canvas (11 x 14) and will be live-auctioned at the Saturday evening banquet. Proceeds from the auctions are returned to the festival’s youth art program. Other art contest participants will have their artwork exhibited in merchant windows on Broadway.
