Leslie (Les) R. Barlow Jr. 1942-2017 Obituary January 11, 2017January 13, 20170 Leslie (Les) R. Barlow Jr. passed away Jan. 2. Les was born March 25, 1942, to Leslie (Les) and Muriel (Marie) Barlow in Arcata, Calif. He logged with his father for years before moving on to working cattle all around the country including Anderson with Shasta Livestock, Corning, Vina, Cottonwood, Fort Klamath, Bly, and surrounding areas, and inspecting cattle for 30-plus years for the Oregon Department of Agriculture. He survived his young and wild days where he met some of the most amazing and important lifelong friends, a list too long to mention. He married Shelly Aug. 11, 1984. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing with his family, and visiting with people. For more than a decade, their spare time was spent running around to watch grandkids in sports, school functions, county fairs, or just chasing them around while they helped with chores. Papa loved having the grandkids around. He is survived by his wife, Shelly; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky, Leslie (Doug), Alise (Josh), Malina, and Susan; grandchildren, Lauren, Kylan, Les, Quinton, Colton, Luke, Ada, Michela (Chanc), Kenny, Shyane and Maurice; and several great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of Les “Papa” Barlow will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Klamath County Fairgrounds in Exhibit Hall No. 1. A potluck will follow.
