Ila Jane Abbott, 92, passed away Nov. 26 in a hospice home in Bend, with her family beside her.

Jane Abbott was born March 30, 1924, in Kalispel, Mont., to Kathryn P. and William C. Search. Born in a farming family, she was the second oldest daughter of 13 brothers and sisters. In 1932, her family moved to Parma, Idaho, where she graduated from Parma High School, and married Joseph C. Brewington. In 1947, they moved to Hines, and raised a son and a daughter. While her husband worked as a mechanic for Edward Hines Lumber, Co., Jane worked at Ranch Supply Hardware as a clerk and then was co-founder of Burns-Hines TV Cable and retired in 1982. She remarried and survived two more husbands, Bob Gullett, and Leslie “Doc” Abbott.

In her spare time, Jane enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, shopping, quilting, and crocheting. She cherished her travels with her third late husband, Doc, to Europe, Mexico, and Thailand.

Jane is survived by her two children, Sharon Voegtly of Hines, and Frank Brewington of Gresham; four grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell, Idaho, with Pastor David Gosnell of the Hines Bible Baptist Church officiating.
