William Harold Taylor 1931- 2016

obit-taylor-webWilliam Harold (Bill) Taylor passed away peacefully Oct. 10 in Nampa, Idaho, at the age of 85.

He was born Sept. 8, 1931, in Washington, D.C. to Luella B. Wyble Taylor and Joseph David Taylor.

After serving his country in the U.S. Air Force in Korea, Bill met the love of his life, Sandra Mitchell. They married and lived in Prineville for 23 years where they raised four daughters and a son, and took in many foster children. Bill owned and operated several service stations and a huge vending machine business. He and Sandra moved to Burns, where he fulfilled his dream of owning a bowling alley. He also owned several other businesses there. After living in Burns for 33 years, they moved to Nampa, Idaho, in 2013 to live with family because of declining health.

Bill was committed to his family and worked hard all his life. He was a devoted husband and father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed.

Bill was loved by many and always found time for family and friends. His heart was HUGE, and his generosity extended to those whose lives he touched, to help in any way he could. Although his passing has left a hole in our lives, our hearts are comforted knowing that he is no longer in pain and that he is at peace and living with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in Heaven.

The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the outstanding staff and amazing care of the Boise Veterans Hospital and their oncology department, Nampa Kindred Care Center, Midland Trinity Mission Care Center in Nampa, and Horizon Home Health and Hospice.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sandra; his four daughters and their husbands, Ralena and Pat Tilman, Tammy and Jim Hargrave, Lori and Dan Cork, and Roxane and Curt Berger; his son, Reginald Taylor; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and sisters, Jane Williams and Ann Swain.

He was preceded in death by his birth parents; stepfather; three sisters; brother; and stepbrother.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Nampa Church of the Brethren, 11030 W. Orchard Ave. in Nampa, Idaho. Arrangements are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa, 201-467-7300. Condolences may be expressed at zeyerfuneralchapel.com.
