Larry Lloyd Jay, 72, of Burns, passed away July 26, surrounded by his family at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend after suddenly taking ill.

Larry was born April 12, 1944, in California to Alex and Della (Nations) Jay.

He worked as an auto and diesel mechanic, and because of his love of mechanics and his work ethic, he never truly retired. Larry loved to mine for gold, and he was passionate about being a patriot and protecting and preserving the Constitution.

Larry is survived by his wife, Deborah; daughters, Shambre Clever of Burns, and Sherri Marie Youssef of Clayton, N.C.; stepdaughter, Jennifer Vancil; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
