Darlene Louise Kuhn, 80, passed away suddenly Feb. 27 following a brief illness. Darlene was being visited and comforted by family members at St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor, Wash., at the time of her passing.

Darlene Ries was born March 5, 1935, in Longview, Wash. She was the third child, and the first daughter of Alice M. and Carl George Ries.

Darlene spent her early years growing up in Burns,  eventually moving to Washington state. There, she married Steve Kuhn, retired U.S. Army. Darlene and Steve were long time members of the Key Peninsula Sportsmen’s Club in Lakebay, Wash.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Steve E. Kuhn; brothers, Daniel and Robert Ries; son, Donald Anderson, son of Howard Anderson; daughters-in-law, Barbara and Karol Anderson; grandchildren, Raina Anderson-Webber, Tara Anderson, Dana Dalton, Kalina Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Alaina and Chase Rosas, Keira Ford, and Isabella Anderson-Webber.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Ries; and son, David Anderson, son of Howard Anderson.

Darlene was interred April 26 at Tahoma Cemetery in Kent, Wash.
