Kathy Summerlin Davis, 64, passed away April 7.

Kathy was born Sept. 12, 1951, in Mt. Olive, North Carolina.

Kathy worked for Safeway of Burns for more than 25 years, and was the deli manager for more than five years. She took pride in her work, and continually went above and beyond expectations.

Kathy’s true loves were her brothers and sisters, her three boys, her three granddaughters, the North Carolina Tar Heels, the beach, Alan Jackson, playing cards (solitaire and rummy with her granddaughters), and helping those in need.

Kathy is survived by her three sons, two daughters-in-law, and three granddaughters; Jed, Carolyn and MaKenzie Davis of Monmouth, Travis, Teresa, Kyra and Sienna Davis of Hood River, and Trevor Davis of Gladstone; six brothers and sisters, Harvey Summerlin, Jimmy Summerlin, Sally Barnett, Shelby Blizzard, Johnny Summerlin and Donnie Moore; and many special cousins, nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Effie and Harvey Summerlin; brothers, Lynwood and Ronnie Summerlin; and sister, Linda Summerlin Carter.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at the Valley Golf Club. Kathy had a love for helping others. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation to the charity of your choice be made in her name.
