Betty Jean Hoyt 1939-2016 Obituary March 16, 2016March 16, 20160 Betty Jean Hoyt, 76, passed away March 6 at her home. Betty was born Dec. 10, 1939, in Gridley, Calif. Betty grew up in the Sacramento, Calif., area. There, she met the love of her life, Walter Jason “Jay” Hoyt III. On April 10, 1962, Jay and Betty were married in the Oakland LDS Temple in Oakland, Calif. Betty and Jay moved to the Burns area in 1975. Betty was active in PTA, Friday’s Club, community events, and church callings. After her kids left home, Betty ran the Trends and Traditions Gift Store in Burns for eight years. Betty loved flowers, working as a florist, and to express her artistic talents making arrangements and wreaths. Betty took joy in those around her, was generous, and was eager to help those in need. Betty loved to read, study, and keep up on current events. Betty is best remembered by her children for being their greatest supporter, best friend, and loving mother. Betty is survived by her four children, Walter Jason “Forth” Hoyt IV of Pilot Hill, Calif., Elizabeth Hoyt Paramore and her husband, Robert Paramore, of Hines, Jenifer Hoyt Evensen and her husband, Lars Evensen, of Henderson, Nev., and Hayley Hoyt of Kennewick, Wash.; 14 grandchildren, Walter Jason Hoyt V, Hunter Paramore, Rivka Paramore Cummings, Parker Paramore, Payden Paramore, Hyrum Paramore, India Paramore, Stokton Evensen, Arden Evensen, Warwick Evensen, Hanna Farr Bowers, Harrison Farr, Emma Farr, and Frances Farr; and one great-grandson, Ryker Paramore. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jay, in 2007.
