Crane tops Adrian 60-45 in HDL play

Three Mustangs scored in double figures to lead the Crane boys basketball team to a 60-45 win over Adrian on Saturday, Jan. 19, at Crane Union High School.

With the win, the Mustangs improved to 5-1 in the High Desert League, and 9-7 overall.

Jacob Dunn dropped in 16 points to lead Crane to the win. Brian Clark finished with 14, and Jesse Roozeboom had 10.

After leading 15-13 at the end of the first quarter, the Mustangs took advantage of Adrian’s second-quarter turnovers to stretch the lead to 36-20 by halftime.

Crane got baskets from Dunn and Roozeboom to start the third period, and upped their lead to 49-30 headed into the final eight minutes.

The Mustangs scored the first five points in the final stanza, and picked up the 15-point win.

Peyton Krueger finished with nine points for the Mustangs, Chase Joyce had seven, and Rhett Landon and Mitch Clark had two apiece.

The previous day, Friday, Jan. 18, Crane traveled to Prairie City, and the third-ranked Panthers came out on top, 77-45.

Crane plays at Jordan Valley on Friday, Jan. 25, then returns home to host Huntington on Saturday, Jan. 26.
