Glenn Edward Dwyer 1938-2018

Glenn Edward Dwyer passed away Sept. 27 at home surrounded by family.

Glenn was born in Merrill, Wis., on Feb. 6, 1938. His early years were spent in Merrill where he attended school. He lived with grandparents, aunts, and uncles in Mauston during the summer and fondly remembered living on the farm. In Wausau, he continued his education at St. Mary’s Elementary and Newman Catholic High School. Upon graduation, he attended the University of Wisconsin until deciding to enlist in the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in Spokane, Wash., and volunteered to move to Burns, where he met his future wife of 58 years.

Glenn was an avid member of the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Church, which further grew his faith in God. Glenn and Judy were married at Holy Family Catholic Church and started their family, which grew to three sons and one daughter. Glenn joined US Bank in Burns, which transferred him to Hermiston, then to Ontario. He became the manager of the West Park Plaza branch. He also worked in the Vale and Ontario branches until he got transferred back to Burns to be the manager where he remained until his retirement in 1994. Upon retiring, Glenn and Judy moved back to Ontario. Glenn and Judy spent 13 winters with their motorhome in California, then purchased a house in Arizona for the last nine years, enjoying golf, friends, family, and warm weather.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, Michael, David, and Gil; daughter, Michelle; grandchildren, Brenden, Andrew, Julia, Mykelti, Aiden, Kiera, and Clare; lifelong friends in Burns, Ontario, and Canada; and cousins, Martha and Jane Duselle, and Ellen Liberty.

A rosary will be held at 5 p.m. (MT) Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Ontario. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. (MT) Thursday, Oct. 4, at Blessed Sacrament Church, followed by burial at 1 p.m. (MT) at Idaho Veterans Cemetary in Boise, Idaho.
