Crane, Burns ready for spring sports

The spring sports season begins in earnest this week for Burns and Crane high school athletes.

The Burns varsity baseball team began its season Tuesday, March 13, as the Hilanders traveled to John Day for a game with Grant Union.

On Saturday, March 17, the Hilanders are scheduled to travel to La Pine for a doubleheader beginning at noon.

The Burns softball team gets its season under way at home as the Hilanders are scheduled to host Lakeview on Wednesday, March 14. The doubleheader starts at 2 p.m.

The next action for the Burns softball team is Saturday, March 17, when the team hosts La Pine for a twinbill at noon.

The Hilander track team opens its season on Thursday, March 15, at the Crook County Icebreaker meet in Prineville at 3:30 p.m. On Tuesday, March 20, Burns travels to Vale for a meet at 3 p.m. MT.

The Crane track team will travel to Harper on Friday, March 16, for its first meet of the season. The meet starts at 10 a.m. On Tuesday, March 20, the Mustangs compete in the Small Schools Meet in Vale at 3 p.m. MT.

The Burns boys and girls golf teams will hit the links for the first time on Tuesday, March 20, when they travel to Vale for a nine-hole meet. Tee-off is set for 3 p.m. MT.
