Tracy Dawn Hill 1959-2016

obit-hill-webTracy Dawn Hill passed away Sept. 17 at Oregon Health & Science University hospital after a long battle with cancer, with her spouse and son at her side.

Tracy Dawn May was born Feb. 17, 1959, to Ruth Lavon and Francis Emmet May in Montrose, Colo.

Tracy and Shaun moved to Harney County in 2006 to manage an alfalfa farm.

Tracy opened up Payroll and Temp Services in 2011, where she worked diligently to provide a service that Burns needed. She not only developed a very special clientele, but also many friends. Tracy’s business was a very important part of her life and meant a lot to her.

That same year, Tracy and Shaun bought and developed a ranch where they enjoyed spending time together working with their hay and cattle. Tracy was not afraid to get a little grease under her manicured fingernails or manure on her jeans.

Tracy became a very active member of the Oregon CattleWomen’s Association where she was an officer, and was also president of the Harney County CattleWomen’s Association.

Tracy enjoyed organizing get-togethers with family and friends, with a good glass of wine. She was a fun-loving person who cared about the people around her. She will be greatly missed by all of them.

Tracy is survived by her spouse, Shaun Martin of Hines; son, Max Hill of Bend; brothers, Mike (Rhonda) May, and Vaughn (Angie) May; sister, Kelly (Bud) Western; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Tracy’s life will be held at noon Saturday, Oct. 1, at Big Bear Lodge in Hines, followed by lunch at 1 p.m. Come enjoy lunch and remember Tracy.

Contributions in her name may be made to the Harney County CattleWomen, or to a charity of your choice.
