Renaissance Medispa offers rejuvenation

“People work pretty hard in their everyday lives, so if they take time to rejuvenate themselves, it will keep them feeling younger and healthier longer,” Zoe Thompson said.

Thompson, who is a cosmetic registered nurse, owns Renaissance Medispa LLC with her husband, Todd. The medispa is located inside Studio 20 at 1326 Hines Blvd. in Burns.

Medispa services

Renaissance Medispa offers cosmetic injections, hyaluronic acid fillers, chemical peels, and medical-grade skincare products.

Cosmetic injections, — such as Botox, Xeomin and Dysport — prevent and relax face lines by safely and selectively blocking the muscles from contracting. The injections can treat frown lines, forehead wrinkles, and crow’s feet (branching wrinkles around the outer corners of a person’s eyes). They can also be used to prevent them. In fact, Thompson said people in their 20s have been receiving injections as a preventative measure.

When asked whether the injections are painful, Thompson replied that they cause a “quick sting” that hurts less than a wasp bite.

She added that the injections produce marked, rapid results that can be seen within 24 hours.

Hyaluronic acid fillers replace collagen loss under the skin. Collagen is the primary structural protein in a person’s connective tissue, and it’s frequently used to make a person’s skin smoother and less wrinkled. Providing immediate results, the fillers are a quick, easy solution for fuller lips, “ice pick” scars, and for smoothing lines on the lower half of the face.

Chemical peels address a variety of skin problems such as acne, rosacea (chronic inflammation), and dark spots. They also prevent signs of aging, reduce scarring, soften fine lines, stimulate collagen production, and improve the skin’s tone, texture and clarity.

Thompson uses the VI brand of chemical peel, which was created by a doctor seeking a solution for his child’s cystic acne (a form of acne that causes large, red and painful breakouts deep in the skin).Thompson said VI Peel is safe for anyone 12 or older, and it can be used as an alternative to acne medications like Accutane.

Renaissance Medispa also carries a variety of medical-grade skincare products, which are effective for an array of skin types and conditions.

About Thompson

With 25 years of nursing experience, Thompson is proficient at administering injections. She worked in a hospital setting for most of her career, and was eager to apply her medical skill, knowledge and expertise to a more creative pursuit. Thus, she decided to explore the booming medispa industry by taking classes at Northwest Laser Institute and MediSpa in Meridian, Idaho.

“It’s fun to be able to use my nursing skills of injecting, but yet have it be in a creative, relaxed atmosphere,” she said.

After obtaining certifications, Thompson began working under the direction of a doctor who is experienced in the medispa industry.

“She audits my charts, she’s seen my work, and I call her with questions,” Thompson said, adding that doctors are very selective about who they choose to direct.

Looking and feeling good

Thompson said she named the spa “Renaissance” because it means “renewal.” Her goal is to help clients feel good about themselves, which could inspire them to make other positive changes and develop healthy habits.

“If you look in the mirror and you feel good about the way that you look, you’ll feel healthier, and you’ll develop more healthy habits,” she said. “One kind of spills into the other. You’ll start eating better, making better choices, and hopefully start exercising.”

Thompson said medispa treatments aren’t as expensive as one might think, especially when considering the longevity of the results.

“I try to keep my costs very reasonable so that people are motivated to stay in town to get these services done,” she said.

Anyone who is interested in learning more about the medispa’s services is encouraged to call or text Thompson at 541-647-4540 to set up a free consultation. Clients are protected by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and their privacy is a top priority for Thompson.
